A Navajo silversmith from the Begay family created this bolo tie with a sterling silver shadowbox bear claw design set with natural turquoise, on braided black leather cord with sterling silver ferrule tips. The bolo tie was officially designated the state neckwear of Arizona and New Mexico — its form developed through the mid-20th century from Southwest Native silversmiths who adapted the slide-and-cord format. The bear claw — a powerful symbol in Navajo tradition associated with strength and spiritual protection — is rendered here in the classic shadowbox setting. Available exclusively through Turquoise Mustang.
