A Navajo silversmith created this square sterling silver concho using the repoussé technique — hammering raised relief patterns from the reverse of the silver sheet. The concho (from the Spanish concha, meaning shell) is one of the foundational forms in Navajo silversmithing, adopted from Spanish colonial bridle silverwork in the 19th century and developed into a distinctly Navajo aesthetic. Square conchos are a less common variant of the traditional oval design. Available exclusively through Turquoise Mustang.
