Picture Jasper and Lapis Lazuli Pear-Shape Statement Pendant by Dan Dodson

Dan Dodson, a Southwest jewelry designer who collaborates with Turquoise Mustang, built this large statement pendant around a teardrop picture jasper center stone surrounded by 18 lapis lazuli cabochons in a sunburst cluster arrangement. Picture jasper is a microcrystalline quartz with landscape-like natural banding. Lapis lazuli is one of the most historically significant gemstones in world jewelry, mined primarily in Badakhshan, Afghanistan, and prized for its deep cobalt blue and gold pyrite inclusions.
