Scrollwork All-Sterling Silver Overlay Cuff, Navajo

A Navajo silversmith created this all-sterling silver cuff with scrollwork overlay — decorative curved elements cut from a second sheet of silver and soldered onto the base band. Scrollwork in Southwest silversmithing draws on Spanish colonial and Moorish design influences that entered the region through 18th and 19th century trade routes.
