A Navajo silversmith created this heavy cast sterling silver squash blossom pendant set with an oval red spiny oyster stone. The squash blossom form developed in Navajo silversmithing from Spanish colonial bridle pomegranate motifs in the 1880s and became the most iconic form in Navajo jewelry.
